THE GOOD

  • Both offer great comfort and are lightweight.
  • Good support and stability for pronation.
  • The patent FF cushioning gives a great responsive ride in sprint or long distance run.
  • The discrete eyelets of the FF help create a customized fit and support.
  • Users can wear these shoes without socks due to the wrapped fit and support.
  • Great for walking, running in city or countryside.
  • It is very durable, giving high traction on trails.
  • Cool to run in, even tropical areas.

THE BAD

  • Some users felt the Tri 11 didn’t support their feet the same way as the previous iteration did.
  • Both of the shoes’ heels can be a bit stiff in the beginning. The heel counter at the bottom feels a bit firm, but this is quite understandable as this is a triathlon shoe. The hardness makes it easy for the feet to slip in and out of the shoes without the heel counter collapsing.

Product details

As ASICS’ triathlon shoe, the FF is a fast and light neutral shoe which features a technical mesh that promotes sock-less wear for easy transition during triathlons. It is built with a 10mm heel gradient, which assist wearers in shifting their body mass forward. It puts the wearer in the natural position, while the FlyteFoam technology kicks in for bounce back and responsiveness. It is a big change as the Trio series has featured the I.G.S® (Impact Guidance System) technology and standard EVA and SpEVA midsolest.

Asics’s FlyteFoam series also caters to runners across a broad range of foot types and running styles. It is also recommended for a marathon.

Fit

The Noosa runs small and many users need to get a half size up. Some users only need a short breaking in period

Upper

The seamless upper construction features a technical mesh that permits sockless wear. The FF has discrete eyelets; these independently placed eyelets disburse lace tension, creating a customized fitting environment and enhanced upper comfort

Midsole /outsole

The FF comes in 10mm heel gradient which assists wearers in shifting their body mass forward. The FF adopts AHAR outsole (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber). It is placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability. It also has excellent wet-grip ability to deal with various terrain, from bitumen surfaces with small gravel stones to wet trails.
