The Top-Sider Seacoast Canvas Sneaker for women comes in basic colors like white, black, charcoal and navy, as well as a number of seasonal prints. This makes it easy for women to mix and match with their casual wardrobe. Most users find them comfortable, but those with wide feet or high insteps may need to purchase a larger than normal size. And while the canvas uppers are breathable, a few wearers have found that the snug fit makes their feet get hot easily. The sneakers also aren’t suitable to wear in the rain, as the colors may run, especially the brown in the rawhide laces.
Size Fit
For those with average-width feet, these shoes are generally true to size. But as the toe box is a little snug, users with feet that are wide at the toe may need to go up a half or full size to get a comfortable fit. The same may be true for users that have a high instep. With a lace-up closure, the shoes can be adjusted to foot shape to a certain extent.
Upper
The uppers are made of breathable twill canvas with a textile lining. The canvas can be a little stiff, but breaks in quickly. Padding on the inside of the tongue and collar provide extra comfort around the top of the foot. Many people like the style of the curled rawhide leather laces, but the laces can come uncurled over time. Elastic goring around the tongue keeps the shoes snug on the foot, and makes it possible to wear them without the laces.
Insole
Removable molded PU footbed provides lightweight comfort and basic support for the foot, but those with low arches may not find the arch support adequate.
Outsole
Like most Sperry shoes, Seacoast Sneakers are equipped with non-marking rubber outsoles with Razor Cut Wave-Siping. The wave-siping ensures that these shoes have great traction, whether walking on a wet boat deck or a slippery sidewalk. Vulcanized construction keeps the uppers securely bonded to the outsoles.
